So not only is it going to take me 55 day to get to a mall right here in the valley I have to Kayak across 3 different bodies of water totaling 16,200 Km. Wow what a trip! Sounds exhausting. Especially whit all three kids and a grumpy Hubby.

I just wanted to say..........

Tin Man How To

I made my son's Tin Man costume this year. It was very simple. I thought I would post the instructions for all of you who might be interested.

What you'll need:

1. aluminum colored spray paint (2 - 3 cans) The cheap stuff works just fine.
2. Old clothes for the child to be The Tin Man. (Long sleeves, and long pants usually work best.)
3. Poster board (the regular stuff, not the foam board.)
4. funnel the you don't want to use again (I got mine at the dollar store)

    5.a shoe lace or whatever you wish to use as the tie for the funnel.

What to do:

1. Spray paint the clothes front and back until you achieve the shade you want two coats worked for me.
2. Measure you child for the armor. Measure for length, and width.
3. Cut out the poster board the fit your child. it should reach all the way around you child and reach from the shoulders to just below the hips. (Don't forget to leave a little extra room for lacing up the sides/shoulders.) punch two holes in each shoulder and six down each side.
   
4. Spray paint the poster board, both pieces, front and back, inside and out.
5. spray paint the funnel inside and out.
6. the next day. paint a red heart on the cest plate that you want as your front.
7. also use a sharpie and draw a line down the front and some dots for rivets. do this for the back also.
8. Lace up one side and one shoulder using shoelaces or whatever you wish to use.
9. dress you child in the painted clothes.
10. put the armor on and lace up the other side and shoulder.
11. use silver grease paint and paint the child's face.
12. Poke holes int the funnel and tie onto the child's head. slightly off from the top of the head of course.

Now you have your tin man add a plastic ax and an oil can and your little guy will be ready to dance down the yellow brick road.

Trunk Or Treat Halloween 2009

Just thought you guys would like to see our family Halloween pics for 2009. We went as the cast from The Wizard of Oz. Dorothy, Tin Man, The Cowardly Lion, Wicked Witch, and The Great Oz. Eyeball Cupcakes

I made these for a bbq we are going to tonight at a friends house. 8 kids and 4 adults so it should be fun! The eyeballs are gummy candy ( i think they taste gross, but the kids love them!)
